Teen Heart-throb Donates $112M to
McMaster president and retired Scottish soccer player, Patrick Deane, was shocked by the news that Mac would be the recipient of the largest private grant in history: $112 million, topping Michael G. DeGroote’s $105 million donation in 2003. The donor? Justin Bieber.
McMaster-Bieber Children’s Hospital
Hamilton Health Sciences‘ excitement spilled over in their press release: “We will rename the hospital “The McMaster-Bieber Children’s Hospital. I’m sure all the kids will be huge fans of the new name. His music is something stable that will never get old. And Bieber fever is one highly contagious virus we don’t mind our kids catching.”
Delivering Me a Baby, Baby
“I want all the disadvantaged babies of Hamilton to be born with a head start. You hear all the stuff about Hamilton, growing up in Stratford – the craccoons, the drugs, the bikers – and it hit me, I’ve never supported Hamilton. And I’ve always been a huge fan of Bob Bratina’s radio show and musical work. We have that connection.”
I Want to Be, Like, the New Bono
“I have a chance to be the biggest thing in pop since Michael Jackson, and the biggest thing in charity since Bono. “George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Sting – I could potentially be larger musically and give-ingly.” Bieber is no stranger to charity, giving to over thirteen charity foundations, and donating the concert proceeds on his birthday each year to worthy causes. Mayor Bob Bratina said, “It’s an honour to receive such a generous gift from Jordan Beaver. I’m a huge fan.”
To support Hamilton’s children, please give generously to McMaster-Bieber Children’s Hospital today.
