Hamilton gets heavy on LRT

In council, yesterday afternoon, city staff made a special, plus-size presentation.”The LRT will only perpetuate obesity,” says City Staff.  “Don’t underestimate the benefits of having two six-lane highways running through our core,” staff reminds.  “It forces us to get a little cardio in our day. Taking the bus quickly from one end of the city to the other will be taken for granted, and no one’s going to walk anymore.”

Economically, there is no doubt that an LRT would make Hamilton more attractive to outside investment, and retain some of the brain drain commuting to Toronto.  Staff insists that economic benefits would be trumped by the burden on our Health Care system.
